The 2012 Tri-Chapter Rally at York Fairgrounds
was well-attended with 32 RVs. Our chapter hosted it under the
leadership of Caskey, Kilgore and Trego. We were thankful for sunny
skies and good fellowship. President Trego called our business
meeting to order with 10 of our 11 members present. Treasurer
Kilgore reported a balance of $4411.66 with some outstanding bills
yet to be paid. Membership had one contact to be followed up. Safety
chairman for the year will be John Banzhof.
Unfinished business covered our 2012 rally schedule. Banzhof's
volunteered to host the July rally, perhaps at Muddy Run. Our August
date is still open. Both months are buddy rallies. Joanne reported
that December 8 at Manheim Grill will be family style at noon. Larry
Folkenroth reported that we have 8 of our chapter members scheduled
for Benezett in September with 13 from Chapter 63.
New business included a report from the planning session for the
State Rally in June. We are in charge of parking, opening and
closing flag ceremonies, Purple Cow initiations, and the Friday hot
dog roast. Larry will lead Sunday worship. Each chapter was
encouraged to have some kind of Beach Party Theme activity during
the flea market time. Making root beer floats was suggested and Ed
Caskey volunteered to check into it. Book donations were requested
for the book exchange. Please get your rally reservations sent in.
A discussion followed concerning next year's Tri-Chapter Rally,
hosted by CH 47. Since the National Rally is May 16-21, 1213, we
were asked if we preferred our rally in July or September. All were
in favor of September.
Having no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
Kathy Trego, Chapter Secretary

2012:
Well, here it is into another year! With some of our members heading south this
month, we didn’t have any camping planned. Of course that doesn’t rule out a
get-together at a local restaurant or a member’s home for a social time. Medical
concerns have kept some of us inside even though it isn’t really COLD! But I am
sure we all look forward to those warm months once again where we can “spread
our wings”, so-to-speak and breathe again.
February 2012:
Can you believe that it is February already!
Weather wise, it sure doesn’t seem like it. In the past, we were usually under
inches/feet of snow. These temperatures are unbelievable, but who are we to
complain. Well, with another month gone by, it narrows time down to where we can
soon think about the campouts for this year, other trips we might want to take,
and being with the “ole group” once again. It sure is something to look forward
to if you happened to be staying inside a great deal over the cold months.
March 2012:
Another month, no camping or gathering. Well,
these things do happen. Weather has not been all that cooperative in the early
part of this month, but in the middle, it is unbelievable. Of course then there
are the gas prices, so no doubt people aren’t traveling as much right now. We
are looking forward to seeing club members in May at the Tri-chapter over in
York at the Fairgrounds. The Maryland chapter, as well as Chapter 63 and 47 are
joining us. Looking forward to seeing everyone again and hope more of our
long-time members will join us this year.
April 2012:
Here we are through another month in 2012 and no
camping done as a group. That is sad! I guess folks are staying in the warmer
climates longer and that cuts down the time that we have to camp as a group. But
we have some great outings planned for 2012 such as Tri-Chapter at York
Fairgrounds with Chapters 47, 63 and 111. We have Benezette in September, which
we missed last year. Maybe those two camping events will make up for the months
we missed. Of course, all us would like to see more members come out each year –
maybe this will be a better one. Till we meet again – take care everyone!
